Facing FATCA: Overview and Business Implications of the Proposed Regulations

Event Overview

On Feb. 8, 2012, Treasury and the IRS released proposed regulations for the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). Since FATCA enactment in March 2010, the IRS has issued several rounds of guidance, but the regulations have been much anticipated by taxpayers that will be affected by the new FATCA withholding and reporting regime.

Please join us for this TaxWatch webcast, during which Tax Principal Laurie Hatten-Boyd will be joined by KPMG colleagues Carl Cooper, Mark Naretti, and Melinda Schmidt to discuss highlights of the proposed rules, and what they may mean for potentially impacted entities. Carl, Mark and Melinda all have extensive information-reporting and FATCA-related experience.

In addition, KPMG Advisory Director Robert Alpert will join the discussion to provide a framework of the potential business implications that financial institutions may face as they implement the regulations.
